STEP 1: ACHIEVED RESULTS

What specific action did you commit to take last week? What was the results?

STEP 2: REFLECTIONS

Instructions:Take turns reading the following paragraphs. As you read, underline the ideas that stand out to you.

When Jesus was dying on the cross of Calvary, many people did not understand the power that was in the Lord’s sacrifice. They were far from understanding the gift that God was giving to humanity, they reviled and mocked Him. Today there are still many people who do not understand the power of the cross of Christ and His resurrection, therefore, they cannot take the benefits of this. Through this teaching we will learn the power and benefits that we receive through the sacrifice made by Jesus and His resurrection:

PROVIDES US WITH PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH. (Isaiah 53:4)

God did not form the human body to be a carrier of disease. But due to sin, sickness came, the kind of sickness that ends the life of not only the elderly’s but of the youth and children.

Jesus died carrying our sickness on the cross and overcame death by resurrecting.

Doctors and scientists admitted that there are only 39 main types of diseases in humanity, and they are the root of all the present diseases.  Jesus Christ received precisely 39 lashes on his back, each one representing those diseases. He paid the price for our sickness so that we could be healthy.

Jesus Himself said that the sick are the ones who need medicine. If you feel emotionally or physically ill, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He can heal you from any sickness. (Matthew 9.12)

WE ARE FREE.

Free from guilt: All the guilt that was over our lives and that led us to eternal condemnation, was canceled on the cross of Calvary.

Legal rights were canceled: That is, all the arguments that Satan had against us were canceled. The curses inherited from family, the words that parents had said that marked the lives of their children. Jesus carried all curses on the cross; the blood of Jesus annulled the decree act that was against us. (Colossians 2:14)

PROVIDES US PEACE AND TRANQUILITY. (Isaiah 53.5)

There are people who, because of the wounds in their souls caused by mistreatment, family violence, abuse or their own sins, are unable to find the peace that their souls long for.

Jesus suffered everything and even more than we can bear in this world, so that we no longer have to pay that price.

Jesus not only heals us physically, but he also heals what’s in our soul, he suffered to take away our pain, sadness, rejection, ridicule, contempt, depression, loneliness andanguish. He has the power to heal us from the wounds we’ve received during life and give us the peace that we seek so much. (Philippians 4.7)

PROVIDES US WITH SALVATION FOR OUR SOULS. (Acts 4.11-12)

Recognizing the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross, is what qualifies us to be saved, there is no other way to achieve salvation except through the crucifixion of Christ.

Isaiah 53.6 teaches us that we all go astray when we go after our sins, we decide to live our lives however we wish and we end up being slaves to vices of alcoholism, drugs, tobacco, and so many things that come to bind us, taking control of our will.

Romans 6.23tells us that because of our rebellion we deserve eternal death, in order words, hell, however, God gave us Jesus so that, through Him, we obtain instead of death, eternal life, not only in heaven, but a full life in this time.

The only thing that can move someone to make a sacrifice for others is love, and this was precisely the reason why Jesus died on the cross; to save, deliver, heal and give peace to all those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you have not already done so, give your life to Christ today.
